Fellow super fan and overall great guy Justin Bowen (JBO or jerb to those who love him) is in the middle of a tough situation. A few days ago, Justin’s son, Shawn, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia (ALL) and he has already begun treatment. There is nothing I could magically write that could make this situation any easier to deal with and as a parent myself I can think of no worse pain than what his family is going through.

There is one thing we can all do and that is help the family get through what is sure to be a trying time with a small symbol of hope. Several card fans have already joined together to try and take some of the financial burden off the Bowen family. If you have a couple extra dollars please chip in. There will be other opportunities for you to help as some other fans have already put the plans in motion for a golf scramble and a fundraiser at the BBC on Nov. 8.

Please keep the entire Bowen family in your thoughts, I know I will.
