Guys like Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer would eat him alive.
    QFT.

Samuels could be a 20 and 10 guy all next year and I STILL wouldn't believe that he was making a SMART decision by leaving early. At his position, he is nothing more than a very good college player. A Luke Harangody times three (by which I mean that at least Harangody plays the 4, where his size is more in line with that of the NBA).

When a LOT of PF's these days are 6'10"+ and have crazy ball-handling skills and hops, Samardo needs to realize that his best play would be to stay 4 years, get a good degree, and then see what happens in the league. Blair is having a really nice rookie season, but he was barely drafted despite his accomplishments at Pitt. Samuels, to this point, has done nothing even in the area code of Blair and has the same physical knocks on him if/when he goes.

Ready doesn't always hold the reason for a kid to leave for the NBA. If he starts getting a lot of attention and scouts start ranking him higher and higher, I'd say the temptation could be pretty overwhelming.

I hope he stays 4 years. I really feel like if he does, he is going to play in a Final Four his senior year. Freddy

That's the thing, though, Freddy. The scouts are never going to rank him very high IMO. He can't fix his problems, specifically his lack of height. Unless he commits to being a PF and can develop the lateral quickness and ability to shoot the ball from outside the paint, the guy just isn't a player that is going to be drafted in the 1st round. There isn't a place in the league for 6'8" centers.

That's probably a big reason why he was such a hot commodity out of HS. Coaches knew he wasn't going anywhere for awhile.

i think samuels is a four year guy, and if continues to improve each year the way he has so far, that's good news for 2011-2012.

i have a hard time getting too excited either way about guys who aren't here yet. and, honestly, i'm not done with this team. i think they are growing up and will be worth watching the rest of the year. i'm not predicting a final four by any means, but there's lots of baskteball left to be played.
