Well, because I don't get a response from other boards like I do on here. They tend to ignore it while you feed it. Also, I should have generalized that statement even more. Theres whinners and bitching going on everywhere, no matter what board your on.

Then why do you do it?
I'm still waiting for someone to post that Krag staple. The one reason we should keep him on that has everything to do with Krag and not some dumbazz reason like recruiting. The one shred of hope that might've dawned on you from watching the games this season.

The one shred of hope is that I don't want to believe that Krag is an idiot. He's an educated guy, who has had some level of success with a bad program, and has coached and been around high quality football.
I truly don't feel that he's an idiot and I think he has the potential to turn all this around. Next year we will know for sure.

I don't think next year will tell us anything more than this year. We are going to be a lot worse next year, IMO. If we are going to keep him after this year, we might as well keep him 4 or 5 years to prove how worthless he is to all the skeptics.

Yeah, I'm with DHC on this. Next year he's going to all but have a free pass on the team since we lose so many stars and have lost so much of the talented youth to injury and these "behavioral issues" (ie, Whitehead). We will still have a lot of upset fans if we go 6-6 or worse, but it's not like anyone is going into 2008 with national title expectations.

A good coach still does very well with next years team, IMO.
We lose some guys on offense but we still have talent returning and we have a defensive unit that's one year older, especially in the secondary. Call me crazy, but I see improvement. We get all our big games at home and there will be a lot less pressure next year than this (unless we continue losing). Could be a recipe for Kragthorpe to get things turned around, or we could suck again. Could go either way. But I stand by that initial statement: a good coach would show improvement next year. Our record should be no less than 8-4 or 9-3. + a bowl

Are you really expecting that? I'm expecting around 6-6 tops..could be worse.
Yeah, the defense should improve..but to what? Really bad from amazingly bad? The offense loses Brohm & Douglas. But i do expect the running game to improve. Still, I saw nothing this year to expect improvement from. I just can't see it improving. Yeah, a good coach might do well with next year's team, but we don't have one. If he makes a lot of changes in personnel, you never know.

Look at what we lost in 2004, 2005 & 2006 that's 14 players into the pros. Quote:
Well, Urrutia & Allen were all but absent most of the year Douglass also missed a 3 game stretch. Allen (shoulder) Urrutia (turf toe), (Douglass hurt), Spillman suspended, Stripling suspended, one o-line starter had a career ending injury. 6-6 or 5-7 isnt how I thought U of L would end up but I also dont think we'll end up 6-6 or 5-7 next year either. Obviously Kragthorpe is going to have to shake up the coaching staff, Brohm gone, Cantwell will get his chance to take over, Urrutia, Allen, the 6'8" reciever from Ohio will be a redshirt freshman, the freshman RB from Cincy St. X plus redshirt Victor Anderson from Louisville St. X, maybe Spillman will return, we still have weapons on offense. Hopefully the defense will improve, get bigger & stronger. We will have to replace Art-o-matic, but I think there is hope. I'm not going to be a doomsday theorist just yet. We gave Kragthorpe a reprieve, let's get behind him and see if he can coach his way out of a hole. It wont be fun to be going into 2008 as a pesimist expecting the sky to fall before we even play a game. There are still lots of reasons for a recruit to want to come to Louisville. DI program, BSC conference, great competition in the Big East, nationally televised games, great facilities, excellent & progressive Athletic Director, great city, great stadium, now if we get a good coaching staff & recruiters assembled were, lots of players currently in the pros. I'd still want to play there.
