jajuan spillman out, brock bolen, sergio spencer, anthony allen, urrutia, douglas... with all those guys missing time it's no wonder how the offense has failed to find a groove this year.. losing mike donahue then switching to kuyateh followed up by roche today.. there's a lot of instability on the offensive side of the ball
having said that, the playcalling blows and ive been saying all along stubbs and cassity need to go. jeff brohm needs to get the bump to OC. using urrutia on slant routes is total idiocy.. he's a vertical player and the fact that they don't exploit his size is baffling to me... and you called it on the slow play calling.. the offense can't get in a groove. having the subs run in the play calls instead of using signals is the most retarded thing ive ever heard of. i think we are or must be one of the only teams in college football that does this. it leaves brohm no time to audible. why do they use anthony allen on the screen? this is stripling's bread and butter, or at the very least, trent guy. also the playcalling is extremely predictable. i would say at least half the time i know what the y're going to run to some degree of detail and i seriously doubt i'm the only one considering the vast amount of knowledge i DON'T have about football.

For the record, the Pitt WR was down.
But I agree the offense is regressing as the season progresses. The injuries certainly have a lot to do with it, but I suspect it's more. Last week's game against UConn I can understand because UConn, much to everyone's surprise, has a strong defense. Pitt's defense is far from good and I don't believe the team has any excuse for not being able to march down the field on every possession against Pitt.

What's funny about it is that the ref indicated the Pitt WR had the TD while he indicated Bolen did not. On both occasions, the replay reversed that guys calls.

I agree that the offense has really become average of late. Krapthorpe and Stubbs did something that I didn't think was possible....They have completely sucked the confidence out of Brian and this entire offense. Brian doesn't seem to be comfortable at all and his body language says to me that he does not buy into this system one bit. I really feel for him as I think the dynamic duo and their shitty, non-creative play calling has probably cost Brian millions $$$$. I mean, he will still make good money playing on Sundays but it won't be Jamarcus Russell type money.
On a side note.... The ESPN commentators said that Stubbs was the OC on the 1984 BYU team. 19 fucking 84!!!!! Rumor has it that he asked Kragthorpe what they call that new metal thing on the helmet that protects the players faces. Cassity and Stubbs must go!!! Krapthorpe, you can stay for now.
