See, I thought you might ask that question. I subscribe to the Rush Limbaugh school of tax return theory. I realized that it was stupid to get happy about the government returning to you YOUR money. It's YOURS, and you freely give it away to the government to do what they please. Then, they make you fill out forms to get YOUR money back. They make interest on YOUR money and keep the interest. And if you make a mistake on your form, they keep the money longer!

Thus, I never get a refund. Every year I owe money. This way, it can't be taken by some court action and I earn the interest and keep it too!

BRILLIANT!!!

Other than that, I would have donated mine two years ago. Besides, I would NEVER talk about your (cough) beautiful and excellent creation!

Y'know.. Allen has 644 yards and 9 TD's. He's not putting up huge numbers but he is averaging 5.0 yards per carry.. not bad production for a guy who's hurt. of course, if you take out those big games, the numbers don't look so good. but why would you do that?

How different are his numbers AFTER the MTSU game? He got hurt either in that one or early in the next one. Hasn't been the same since.

True, I didn't bother looking that up, but if you factor all of that in the numbers sitll come out as stated above... just imagine if he was healthy.

No doubt about that. He looked great last year, especially in short-yardage situations. Now he can't even grind out a first down on 3rd-and-inches. I wish we had enough depth to let him heal.

I think we would if we would settle on some guys in the backfield like Bilal Powell who totally deserves to be getting some reps, imo.

I was going to say-of those 644 yards- 275 came in the MTSU game. Kind of inflated his average.

Allen's rushing totals for the last three games are:

Cincy 13-27/1
UConn 10-29/0
Pitt 8-33/0

That's a total of one rushing TD and 31 carries for 89 yards. That's 2.9 yards per carry.

In those same three games, Bolen's numbers are:

one rushing TD and 39 carries for 150 yards or 3.8 yards per carry.

I strongly believe Bolen is logging that many carries because Allen is less than 100%.

Cincy, UConn and Pitt all have defenses that are in the Top 50 against the run (Cincy and UConn are Top 30 against the run).

I could understand our lack of running game against teams when we were playing from behind and had to revert to a pass-only offense (vs. Syracuse and Utah, for example). Of course I can't understand how we got behind in those games to begin with.

Nevertheless, we held 4th quarter leads against Cincy, UConn and Pitt but were unable to chew up any clock with the running game n any of those games. As a result we lost to UConn and nearly lost to Pitt. If we can't control the clock, then this team is in big time trouble against our next 3 opponents.
