Reading today's CJ, there is one common theme............ The players do not feel that they are getting prepared for these games. Heyman, Wood, and Brohm all made comments about not being prepared. Heyman even said something about correcting the mistakes during the week and not on Saturdays. The difference between good coaches and great coaches is preparation and it seems that Krag may be lacking in that dept. Sounds to me like the players are not buying in to Mr. Nice Guys system.

From what I heard, Petrino was the best at preparing, maybe in the nation. So without Kragthorpe being bad, he could still be good, but just not as good as the team is used to.

We always heard comments from the players that when Petrino put together a game plan, they knew it would work and had complete confidence. So far, Kragthorpe has put in four game plans and none have worked.

At this point, i'm wondering about replacements. I think hiring a coach from a midmajor should be off the table. JLS first, now Krag. I'd go with a hot OC or DC from one of the BCS teams.

No doubt Krag will finish the season though. He deserves to endure every shot thrown his way.

You make it sound like JLS was a bad hire... he turned a horrible team into a constant bowl team, to say JLS was a bad hire is just stupid

Sure John L couldnt get us to the NEXT level, where Petrino got us

Ron Cooper... now you can say that was a bad hire

Look at Cincinnati, they went and got a mid-major coach, from Central Michigan, and they are tearing it up... so hiring mid-major coaches is fine with me... that said if you get rid of Kragthorpe after this season it's gonna be a pain in the ass to get any up and coming coach to come here when they see how UofL ran Kragthorpe out after 1 season

I agree that mid-major hires aren't a bad thing at all.

However, if things continue on present course for the Cards, I doubt anyone could blame Louisville for dumping Kragthorpe. It's not like he came into a bad situation. If the Cards continue to allow every team we play to put up 400+ yds of offense and 30+ points we could finish 6-6 or worse. Who wouldn't fire a coach that took the wheel of a 12-1 BCS winning team and ran them off a cliff?

Let's hope that we don't have to fire Kragthorpe.
