normally, it would be my nature to complain about how bad louisville's defense is, all the retarded penalties, mario urrutia's new found love for dropping passes all over the place and the fact that even though anthony allen was running the ball very well (5.3 ypc) steve kragthorpe only gave him 18 carries while passing 43 times. after the cats jumped out to an early lead it was like the coach thought they had to get it all back @ once. and, normally, i would complain about all that
instead, i want to focus on what was good:
- the view of the sunset from section 216 was absolutely smashing. i mean incredible. standing there eating popcorn w/ denise watching the sun go down almost made me forget what was going on early in the game.
- trent guy's 100 yard kickoff return for a td early in the 2nd half. one of the most exciting plays i've ever seen from the cards.
- we took some homegrown jalepeno and banana peppers to eat w/ our nachos. man, they were yummy!
- anthony allen was a beast. 96 yards on 18 carries, 2 rushing td's & a td reception. a good coach rides him to victory like petrino road michael bush. but, i'm not complaining
- the 2 kids behind us were a lot of fun. they were uk fans. talking w/ them, watching them ride the ups and downs of the game and finally enjoy the victory was kind of cool. they were very congenial and i'm genuinely happy for them, knowing what it's like to enjoy a win like that. good for them.
- we are so going to miss harry douglas. 13 catches, 223 yards and sure hands every single time the cards went to him. not afraid to take a big hit. he is special and will no doubt be taking home a fat check this time next year.
- the hit that malik jackson put on rafael little on a 4th and one play late in the game was pretty sweet. too bad we can't clone him, earl heyman and lamar myles.
- texting w/ my 16 year old son all through the game. he was @ home watching on tv. this was probably the longest conversation we've had in 3 years. i'll never forget it.
- anthony allen jumping over marcus mcclinton in the 1st quarter. sweet.
- denise buying me season tix to uk just so i could be @ the game, sharing good snackage with me, walking 1.7 miles to and from the stadium, cheering her lungs out. i have the best wife in the world. period.
