43 passes, 21 runs for 101 yards. That's mid-major, BYU bombs-away football.
Allen averaged 5.3 yards per carry, but didn't even get 100 yards. That's a joke.

But to get back to your question...sloppy turnovers, penalties, and mental lapses = ineffective coaching. I'm not going to dismiss Kragthorpe yet. We're only three games into his career. The lack of discipline could be just from the transition. i.e. Petrino is a completely different type of coach than Kragthorpe and there is adjustment. The guys on the roster now are used to being intimidated and almost forced to succeed by Petrino, whereas Kragthorpe gives them more room than they're used to. He could still end up to be a very good coach, and give us a championship, but we're in for some growing pains, at least.

I agree Harvey. The transition has obviously not been seemless, though I think most of us thought it might be. The defense played a little bit better at times, but if we don't start getting some pressure and the LB's don't start filling the gaps in the line, we are in for 8-4 or 7-5 this year. I didn't see much in the way of blitzing and our corners play WAY off the receivers. The defense is just so different. The overall aggression isn't there and the mistakes have been unreal. Freddy

I think the defense as a whole is just SLOW this year. Watching Peanut Whitehead and Brandon Cox take turns motioning to the sideline for a sub, then running off the field like they just ran 17 miles, is a little disconcerting. How can you ever hope to chase down a quarterback if you can't even play 3 consecutive snaps without sucking air like an asthmatic?
Mark my words... Cassity won't be at the University of Louisville next September.

In the world of college football being a laid back coach does not get you National Championships, most coaches with laid back personalities usually have hard ass assistant coaches, you cannot give college kids that type of freedom, or you end up with results like this one.. nightmare D, and no discipline nightmare meaning wack. i felt that the play calling was horrible, the defense lacked any enthusiasum for the game, and our sideline looked lost, and i cant say nothing about Mario fruit cake U-Fruittia so scared to catch a damn ball in traffic, the reason that I am so angry is because we have the talent the speed and the tools to beat anyone, but we lack that it factor that a championship team should have.. we will loose 2 game in the big east i dont think our d can get it together in time, those kids are not motivated and if Krag cant learn to get into some ass his career at UofL will be a short one.. hopefully he proves me wrong

Cassity is as good as gone. And rightfully so. Our defense has always been our week point. Ever since he got here. Yeah, we may have finished in the top 40 in defense, but look at the talent we had.
Kragthorpe is gone in 4-5 years. We become a mediocre squad and regularly finish 3-4th in the big east. I hate his lackadaisical attitude. If he doesn't get the tubby look off his face and start looking like he gives a shit, then I'LL start the petition.
