Twas the Nigh Before Game Day

Twas the night before game day,
And all through the State,
All Cats thought for sure,
“This is our year, and there is no debate”.

The jerseys were hung by the Kitties lockers with care,
With their coaches praying that come morning, the Cards would be fair.
The players were nestled, all snug in their beds,
With visions of Peanut, pounding their heads;

My cooler filled with beer, my flask filled with Beam,
My heart filled with hatred for the blue and white team.
Their inbred fans partied with their mullets flying in the wind,
Drinking their Old Milwaukee’s finest, hoping their trailers don’t bend.

Top ten team, led by the real Coach K,
marched into Commonwealth and showed them the real Air Raid.
Brohm throws the bombs all seen on Sports Center,
While Woodson’s fumble-it is, has Cats fans saying “is that Artose Pinner”

It’s the same song and dance year in and year out,
They think they have a chance to end the drought.
In case you’ve forgotten it’s been 7 out of 8,
I know they add up and it’s been 4 straight.

We traveled to Lexington and what did we see,
Some tatted up thug, they call him Dickie.
His team fits right in with the criminals of the world,
Flashing little boys and beating up girls.

Kragthorpe and coaches will add to their fame,
While Brooks is so old he forgets his own name.
Bring extra depends Old Man River,
The half time score will have you flowing with a quiver.

Their team will be exposed like the roof on their double wide,
Let them countdown to Basketball season with their Drunk Coach Billy Clyde.
Woodson for Heisman? Good one, yea right,
He’ll be lucky if he makes it through the night.

So after the game, their fans will still scream,
It was the refs fault we lost, but hey, we’re in the SEC.
With another losing season in store for the Cats,
Once again in the SEC they’ll be the doormat.

Probation is coming, that is for sure,
They cheat and still lose, will they ever find a cure?
Reeechee is not playing or walking through that door,
Sorry Cats fans it’s about to be 4 more.

Thanks CardAlum.....my son-in-law is a big YUK fan and emailed me a similar poem about U of L. I sent him this one just now. Since he's coming over to watch the game with us, I can't WAIT to see his reaction! Thanks again!
