Default Predictions and Prognostications

Well, I'm still going with my feeling that Louisville is going to win this game. The offense is a machine and if we get any kind of ground game going, Brohm should have a nice day. The key will be keeping them honest and not letting them just focus on Brohm. Brohm has been on fire in the first two games. His throws are very accurate and strong, much stronger than last year. I think the offense will have a helluva day.

The defense, which has been much malingned following Thursday nights 1st half no show, will play well. Reading what Cassity has said in the last few days leads me to believe that some of the players have not gotten a full grasp of things yet. The defense must react and not over think. I will be shocked if the defense doesn't use this game as an "in your face" type of situation........to us, the fans. How can they not want to improve and be fired up and prove us naysayers wrong? I'm not on the bandwagon that says our defense is awful. I think it was a fluke. Perhaps I will be singing a different tune next week, but as for now, I have to chalk the game up to just one of those things.

The D has to apply pressure to Woodson and we have to get there off the snap. I expect some blitzing, but the timing has to be better. Their O line is vulnerable, but Woodson is a quality QB with quality receivers, so he can't be allowed to survey the field.

The Cards are going to play with a chip on their shoulder. UK will be playing with confidence and emotion. I believe we need to punch them in the mouth early and make them say "here we go again". The longer they stay close or in the lead, the more likely they are to win.

I'm going to go with 49-31, Louisville. Brohm won't throw for 400 yards, because he won't have to, and UK will look to shut him down, down the field. I think Allen will be solid again and for some reason I feel like Stripling and Spillman may play key roles. Their speed is undeniable and I'd expect to see it used.

Well, I may be pissing and moaning over this next week, but that's the way I see it. Freddy

Tuck the shirt tails in, don't retaliate and get PF penalties, and play hard-nosed football.

We'll win.

My only gripe other than the missed assignments and blown coverages (hahaha) was the PF penalty on Mario for sticking up for Harry when he was tackled late from behind after MTSU flipped him over. Good defensive stop, but a late hit. Kragthorpe SHOULD have pulled a petrino and ripped the headset off, gone over and chewed the back judge a new you-know-what. Instead, he went to argue, the ref sid no, and he turned and pouted back to the sideline. Rip the ref, then rip Mario. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

I'll be at the game now (officially). Dad got me a ticket for my birthday! I'm excited but we better win, that's a long drive from lexington when no one in the car wants to talk.

Jody Demling at the C-J says the line is 8.5, and the over/under is 74.
I think we cover easy, but that's just me.

Freddy, you hit my score about dead on. I say 49-29. I've been thinking it will be a twenty point win for months so I'm not gonna change now.
I do think our D will come to play and our line will crush Woodson's pocket repeatedly. But I expect the Cats to do a good job of getting the ball out quick, on screens or draws. I bet they're going to try to run the ball this year and I really don't think they'll be very successful for the most part.
If Cassity is going to play a vanilla(simplified) scheme, I doubt UK will get the big plays like they got last year. But I would think they will be able to nickel and dime us down the field for some scores. That will keep our O off the field for a while, holding us to "only" 49.
I expect the Cards to move the ball at will when they have the ball.

Louisville 55, Kentucky 31

Kentucky will keep it close the first quarter, maybe even lead by 7 or 10, then as the game goes on the talent difference will start to show... Brohm will throw for 350 yards and 4 TDs, Woodson will be sacked atleast 4 times and Louisville will have a comfortable lead going into the 4th quarter

I wouldn't go as far as to say we'll sack him 4 times. We couldn't sack MTSU or Murray even once.

I say Louisville dominates them again in usual fashion. No score prediction here, but it won't be a close game for long.

I'm glad you all feel so good about this one. I think we're going to look like a better team Saturday, but 42 points last Thursday are hard to place in the garbage and forget. This one's going to cover the over-under, I'll guarantee that.

I know we could lose any game against any team, but for whatever reason, UK doesn't scare me at all.
For all those years we heard, "who have you beaten?", well now that falls back on the Cats. Until they beat a team worth anything, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I'm sure our team will come out and play with hunger, like underdogs, Saturday, and we'll get back the national respect we lost last week. Football games are won in the trenches, and we have a huuuuuuuge advantage on both sides, IMO.

I easily see us scoring 40+ points. I don't know what UK will do because I haven't watched them but to think that they will win is ludicrous. PERIOD.

Oh, and by the way...it's not on until my cat puts his helmet on.
