Default Polls

I originally thought we would drop in the polls after this performance. But, I was just looking at the schedules and rankings for this weekend. If it were most any other week, UL would drop in the polls. But, I believe things are going to play out to where they don't and could possibly even move up one spot.

I thought TCU would knock off Texas after their respective performances last saturday, before it was even popular with the announcers. I think Virginia Tech will lose to LSU as well. That takes care of the 7 & 9 spots. Cal is sitting at 10 and I think they win easy against Colorado St. But, a win over CSU wont be enough to jump Louisville. Georgia is at 11 and playing S. Carolina. They should win, but nothing is ever in stone when you are playing a Spurrier team. Same situation as Cal though. A win wont jump them up 4 spots. Due to all of the losing around them, Louisville may very well move up to number 7 in the polls even after a less-than-stellar victory against a subpar opponent.

What do you guys think will happen?

I think we will slip a couple spots. Reason being is the media will see what happened last night as a weakness in our team. Also-I think that based on what happened at the end of last season-(we finished ranked lower than wisconsin for no real reason).

Were not a top 10 program right now, we drop out of the top 10, no doubt.

Remember that year where we came into the season as BCS busters and were getting alot of press? Then we found out that the offensive line couldnt stop a granny with a wlker and Ragone ended up running for his dear life all season? Pretty dissapointing year. I can see another season like that this year, except this time its the defense.

Why are we using logical reasoning to decide where we will go in the polls? Don't you guys know anything about the voters?

The fact that Louisville, Cal, Ohio State, and Va Tech are all within 18 voting points of one another gives SOME reason to think we could slide next week. But losses by Va Tech (and maybe Texas) say we have a more likely chance of staying put or moving up a spot or two.

If Cal and Georgia both win, the voters will put them ahead of us, no question.

Alright... Cal won, by 6... Georgia lost, Virginia Tech got destroyed

I could see Cal jumping us, but I'm not sure, even tho we won by 16, margin of victory means less than how many points someone gives up... voters would probably rank a team higher that won 13-3 than a team that won 45-31

My guess is we will be at #8 or #9... I'll go with still at #8, but it will be close...

USF will move into the polls, Rutgers will move up a few spots... WVU might drop 1... Cincinnati could receive a few votes

Half the conference will be ranked and maybe more than half receiving votes, so I think it's safe to say the Big East is better than the ACC... and I think a case can be made for the Big East being the 2nd best BCS conference out there... the conference has a total of 2 losses, both by the same team

Seeing the score of the Cal game, they probably shouldn't jump us after giving up a lot of points to a winless team as well. Georgia and Va Tech will drop for sure. I don't see us dropping that much either.

It's freaking awesome that USF has joined the big boys of the BigEast. It will be nice to both remove an SEC team from the top25 and swap them with a BE team. Cincy raised some eyebrows too. Top to bottom, this is the toughest the conference has been in a long time.
