Im all for reasonable season tickets...I definitely cannot afford to put up big dollars to go and support our team. I hate that it has to be like that, but Im sure that there are more than several people on here and locally that are in the same financial situation as I. I love my team, and the only chance I get to go to games either sport is if someone invites me (football) or its a post-season NIT like last year (hope we have no more of those though!)

IMO that place would be a lot more packed if the powers that be allotted several thousand for the average joes of the land. The new expansion is my hope for that.

I grew up about 5-7 miles from Freedom Hall/old Cardinal Stadium, and have never been to a U of L basketball game and maybe got to go to 2 games at old Cardinal Stadium (Never even been in Papa John's). Reason, my parents couldn't afford to pay for my tickets, nobodies fault, just sayin'. Now, I don't go to games for kinda the same reasons, because I live so far away now (Campbellsville, KY), and by the time I pay for gas, tickets, etc., it becomes alot of money to some of us. I'm not blaming anyone for this and I'm not a bit bitter about it. Hell, its not Tom Jurich's fault I can't go to a game. I just hope I can get to a few football/basketball games in the next couple years.

But I still love my CARDS!

Doesn't Duke's court only hold like 9000 or so? It's more like a gym so you pack the kids on the floor level and it looks impressive on tv. Apparently Duke brings in enough not to worry about bball revenue, etc.

Build it and they will come. I know, a stupid movie theme, but affordability may be part of it, but we will always have empty seats for USF, UConn, or whoever else may not be viewed as a big game. Do you really think the big house is full for Central Michigan? As for leaving early during the USF fame, I stayed but I was freezing my ass off, so I was suprised that more people didn't leave. I used to have season tickets to the Detroit Red Wings, which was one of the toughest tickets to get in Detroit and a great atmosphere, and it was amazing how many people arrived late and left early. 10 minutes left and a tie score and you would see people leaving. Plane to catch, I guess.
BUT, we now know that we will have at least a couple big games every year that will sell 60,000 plus tickets. Recruits will be brought in to a tremendous atmosphere and the foundation for a solid program gets harder and harder. The not-so-big games will have empty seats and deals will be offered to those folks that normally could not afford to go. Money will be made, the program will get better, the Cardinal Nation will grow, and it will all be good.

I was very impressed with the number of fans at the football game. The place was actually pretty loud too. The thing that really makes me mad is that the CJ has pushed UofL football back to page 6. This is still a Top 10 team!!!!!

Also, for the record, the student section at bball games is pathetic. No one was at the exhibition Sun. You could argue that the lack of guest tix, fact that the bball team and football team played the day before, etc. had something to do with it, but I was just shocked how few of us there were in the student section.

Given that there is a home game like every other day in the month of December, I expect most of them to be lightly attended. Who in the heck has the time or the desire during the holidays to go to Freedom Hall 2 or 3 times a week to watch UofL play some nobody?

I wonder what it would take to make U of L move the student's section down to the floor, FACING t.v. cameras? I would gladly write letters to support this idea, but I doubt it would help. Why can't they see that would look so much better on t.v. and it would help with student attendtance at games (If the knew they were gonna get great seats)
