Speaking of the Bowl game.
I'm in Louisville for a week, and Jenna and I will be attending a silent auction Wednesday night that is offering a trip to this year's bowl as one of the prizes to bid on. It's a cocktail party-slash-auction that is part of the Governors Cup festivities and benefits Visually Impaired Preschool Services. It starts at 6:30. It's a little pricey at $50 a couple, but there will be lots of guests, including Coach Kragthorpe, Lee Corso, Jeff Van Note, Amos Martin, Fran Curci, etc.. Here are just a few of the items you can bid on, I've been told they added another six pages to this list...http://vips.org/pdf/Live%20Auction%20Items.rtf If you'd like tickets, you can call 502)636-3207, or walk up to the door at The Olmstead 3701 Frankfort Ave. For more information, you can go to http://www.vips.org.

Back to the original topic, I thought I had posted something in here in response to whoever challenged my disdain for South Carolina and Clemson being ranked as more difficult than PJCS. Cliff's notes version of what I meant to type... I don't care how many fans you pack in a stadium. If your teams lose a combined 11 games in the past two seasons, you're not exactly influencing the difficulty meter by being there. All the noise in the world doesn't matter if the visitors shut your mouth with a couple of early TD's. When Steve and Funball start winning games in Columbia, then we can talk about it being a tough place to play.

I love the fact that we didnt win 2 conference titles thanks to the refs not knowing the rules.... that year then 2005 in the Big East with the onside kick against WVU |

Yea, it pisses me off too. But we had already screwed up that year with losses. It's this picture that allows me to smile now:
![]() Thirty minutes after the game last year and for this fan, the reality of the loss is still settling in. I remember the day of the game, I was in a Speedway and some WV fans had just arrived in the city. I walked up to the cash register with a box of Kleenex and said to a WV fan standing nearby, "Hey, you better get these now because there's going to be a run on them after the game by your fans!" He was cordial and chuckled softly but I could hear his mind loud and clear. "You freakin' red clad ass butt, you just wait until tonight!" I did, and man it was worth the wait! I think I'll go watch that game again, right now! Oh by the way, what's a silent auction? Is it like when no one bids and they force the prize on you as you leave the party (sorta like UofL football tickets in the early 90's at Thorntons)?
