Do you think you know your Louisville Cardinals? Better yet, do you know your Louisville Cardinal opponents? The bug has officially caught Cardinal Empire (or at least Empire Lindy) and I am itching to have a little fun with the rest of the season. For the rest of football season - and possibly into basketball - we will release our preview and then have folks post their score predictions into the preview thread. The 10 closest prognosticators each week will earn points. For now it's just bragging rights, but maybe by the end of basketball I can dig up a nice little prize for the winner.
Here are the rules. 1) Closest to the actual spread wins (if the final is 30-27, the spread is 3 and 3 beats 4 which beats 5, etc, etc, etc. 2) If two players tie with a correct spread, then total points determine the winner. For example, Cards win 30-27, two players pick Cards by 3. But Player A picks Louisville 31-28 and Player B picks Louisville 45-42. Player A wins. 3) Leading Cardinal receiver... tie-breaker #2 4) Total yards of Cardinal offense... tie-breaker #3.Hope everyone likes this idea. I will post the leader board in this thread after each game, but all entries must go in the game preview & predictions post made by me. Here is the link to the Syracuse Preview & Prediction thread... I'll switch the link as we go through the season. West Virginia Preview & Predictions

Standings are up for the first batch of games. We had 11 competitors, but that has to improve. I know more Cardinals are reading this board. Just toss a prediction in for the next game.
BTW, I am modifying the rules slightly going forward. It dawned on me that just using spread as the primary metric was dumb. I stated originally that no matter who you had by 3 points, if the final was a 3-point spread you would win. Well that is dumb if someone picks Cards by 2, someone else picks opponent by 3, and the Cards win by 3. Going forward, there will be a plus/minus for how close you are to the final line and which way. So using the same example above, the Cards pick is a -1 and the opponent pick is a -6 and the Cards pick would win the week. The rest of the rules still apply.
