Don't get me wrong, I want this game on TV...but I am not too sure if UofK isnt going to fight to get it on TV, only to get their asses handed to them again.

We'll see...

while the Cats' popularity is booming among their own fans, the shift of the U of L game from the season's first game to its third appears to have hurt the rivalry in the eyes of ESPN.

"There will still be 70,000 people in Commonwealth Stadium," he said. "It's still going to be important to the people in our Commonwealth. That game is still going to get its share of attention."
UK sucks in this rivalry so they dont care if it's on TV, they care about selling out their stadium for home games.

Louisville will play on any day of the week, anywhere to get on TV and that's why our program has moved up the food chain and UK has not.

That second highlighted comment is just the epitome of stupid. So because you can get 70,000 people to watch your game, you deem it a success? Gee, that's interesting. Louisville football looks for numbers more like this:

10,650,000 - Approximate viewers for 2007 Orange Bowl v. Wake
4,600,000 - Approximate viewers for 2006 Gator Bowl v. Va Tech
6,500,000 - Approximate viewers for 2004 Liberty Bowl v. Boise State

That in conjunction with 4.9 million folks watching last year's WVU-Louisville game and 4.6 million watching Rutgers-Louisville the very next week. Those are the two highest-rated Thursday night football games ever on ESPN and the 2nd and 3rd most watched ESPN games EVER!

But yeah, having 70,000 people (and maybe a few recruits if you are lucky enough to get them in that weekend) is cool too.

The UK administration flat-out does not care about its fans. Like you said bling, all they care about is selling out 70,000 strong($$$$$$), the rest of the UK fans out in the state or across the country be damned.

They don't want the game on TV. If they did, they wouldn't have wanted to move the game. They had maximum exposure and didn't want it. Now he wants to say that they want to be seen? Why doesn't the media or their fans hold this dickhole accountable? Freddy

I truly believe that if UK doesn't go back to scheduling the game as the 1st of the season that it will be the end of the series. After UL gains the edge in wins, Jurich will not renew the contract citing the loss of revenue from no TV.

this is not a rivalry, anyway. louisville's rivalry game will be played thursday, nov. 8 before a national audience. who cares if/when the cards play uk? the 1st three games on this year's schedule are an absolute joke, imo.
