well, here is the so called "experts" predictions for the coming season. A laughable 7th place finish for the Cards in the BE by one..and not a single top 25 vote among the bunch.

I don't think that means were bottom of the barrel in the Big East either.
If that's the case rankings should be the exact ranking as the finish from the previous year, no deviation.

I agree on not deserving of a top 25 nod, but finishing that low in the BE?? I just cant see any reason for us to not finish in the top 3..WV and SFLA are the only two I see that are strong from last season..and WV could easily stumble without slaton. We shall see..

I would put the Cards at 5th or 6th, behind USF, WVU, Pitt, and UC. Maybe behind Rutgers, maybe behind UConn too. We just have a lot to prove after last year and as much as people want to continue to pile onto the BigEast, it's going to be a tough league with some very good teams.
The BigEast is good. UofL isn't. ![]()

I think Pitt has had some decent recruiting since Wannstandt showed up. I suspect they may be returning a few starters from last year, plus they had a good freshman RB last year who is returning.
As far as the Cards go, Jurich's comments of late don't seem to inspire much in the way of a successfull season. We lost most of our offense and our defense is sorely lacking as well, particularly at linebacker. Given the recent rise of Pitt, UConn and Cincy, 6th or 7th place is certainly realistic. On the plus side, we get WVA, USF and Cincy at home which helps.

Even though the depth on the D side of the ball last year was better, this year we have far better coaching, so I think that will probably make up for that somewhat. This means our D will be better, and our offense should be about the same. If our D was a little bit better last year, we would have had 2-3 more wins, which easily puts us toward the top of the Big East.
Wannstedt will fuck it up at Pitt. He always does. He's a moron.
