Default Spring Game Photos!

Fun time again this year. I was pleasently suprised at the size of the crowd coming off a "down year". We might just be a football school.

Photo Gallery is up.

Nice job on the pictures. For those who were there, how did the team look?

After the game, there was a pretty good crowd around Ron English. I said to him it's nice to have a defensive coordinator that actually knows what he is doing.

It seems to me the defense is not there but are going to get a lot better. They were really getting after it even short staffed. Heyman and Grady both got the quarterback 2 times and sometimes I actiually saw perfect pass coverage. Turrenne, Patrick and Raglin all had nice games. Spencer seems to be adjusting. I even got a pic of him taking down Brock. Now as for the overall run defense.........we need some LB's. The intensity and team attitude on D was great. That never happened last year. English seesm to be the right guy.

Offense had a lot of dropped, or short passes but overall they looked good. Victor Anderson and Powell looked good. Bolen still hits harder than anyone on the team. I dont think I have ever heard Maurice Clark's name before but he had an excellent game. Spillman had some explosive moves, Trent Guy's better is better than your better. The only real glaring offensive problem was the TE's. It is a huge drop from the Barnidge, Kuhn top-level we have gotten used to. I think bizarro Scott Long was on the field tonight because he really seemed to struggle, but after blowing up in the past two Spring Games and not having the same success during the season, I will gladly take the opposite.

And last but not least, How can the kicker be the coolest guy on the team. By kicking barefoot, and nailing em. How cool is that?

If the defense continues to improve, and I think it will, we are going to surprise a lot of people this year.

I agree. I think our new coaches will make us wonder how the old ones were drawing paychecks. I just hope they stick around for a while because I think both English and Brohm are big-time HC material.

Looking at the schedule, there's really no excuse for not winning the first six games if we still have the program we should, only two years removed from the Orange Bowl.

KENTUCKY(a rebuilding year for the Cats after their magical musical bowl season, plus at home with payback)
TENNESSEE TECH(Cards better win)
KANSAS STATE(a little better than UK but this will be built up as a big game for our guys)
UCONN(maybe the best team so far but this time, it's personal)
at Memphis(not too concerned but could be a tough game, first road game of the year should have the boys focused)
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE(Cards better win)
USF(where the schedule gets tough, but home field is huge in this series, the Bulls should be better than last year though, IMO)
at Syracuse(payback against a bad team)
at Pitt(coin flip, these last games depend a lot on how the season has been going up to this point)
CINCINNATI(coin flip)
WEST VIRGINIA(coin flip)
at Rutgers(probably the toughest game on the schedule, IMO)

I can't see us being outclassed by anyone this year, just like we weren't last year. We've got the talent and the schedule to make some noise, the real question is will the new coordinators up the level of focus, teamwork, and tactical execution? I think they will.

Brock Bolen, "the hardest hitter on the team".............I bet your right !

I wonder how he would feel about playing LB, since we are in dire need at that position and short handed?

Why was Stripling suspended this time?
