Default Matt Ryan scores a 32 on the Wonderlic

Wow impressive, that's a pretty high score. I saw this in the headlines a couple days ago.

NFL draft gurus pay attention to this IQ test and it factors in to all the evaluations of the players.

Funny thing is I just read an article today that mentions Brian Brohm also scored an identical score of 32.

How QB's scored on Wonderlics

One of the many variables NFL teams are factoring into their draft grades are scores from the Wonderlic tests given at the scouting combine. Wonderlic tests are given to help gauge the intelligence of prospects. NFL teams expect most prospects will score well because players can prepare for the tests. When a player has an unusually low score, it sets off alarms. At the quarterback position, none of the top prospects laid a Wonderlic egg.

Boston College's Matt Ryan, he of the off-the-charts intangibles, scored an impressive 32. And his score was matched by Lousiville's Brian Brohm, who is the second-highest-rated quarterback after Ryan on most boards.

Joe Flacco of Delaware scored a 27 and Chad Henne of Michigan scored a 22. Both are considered second-round prospects.
I am really getting mad, it's almost like a conspiracy the media and draft people seem to be operating in HYPING Matt Ryan and dissing Brohm.

This article I found wasnt a very big deal, just a blip, a paragraph while the first time I read it days ago Matt Ryans name was in the headlies with his score of 32.

By the way Dan Marino scored a 13 on his Wonderlic test, still went on to be one of the most prolific passers in NFL history so .....so much for the Wonderlic.

RB Frank Gore also scored a 13.

What did this "winner" Ryan ever win in his career? Did he win a BCS game? Did he even lead his team to a BCS game? Did he ever win the ACC? Did they win any bowl games? What has he done at BC besides that nice comeback against VT this year?

He's like Jeff George.

Ryan apparently is some kind of NFL combine freak who did something (George's arm strength) that wowed the scouts and now none of them want to look like an idiot so the all jump on the Ryan bandwagon.

It's his "intangibles" which means he does all the little things off the field in workouts well but yet and still on the field he's just a bit above average.

Sure he got "mentioned" in the Heisman race but didnt do anything on the field to actually put himself in the race to win it.

Another thing that annoys me about the comparisons is this supposed "long arm" Flacco dude. I read he throws a 58mph ball or something and guess who comes in second just ONE mph slower? Thats right..Brian Brohm.

Interesting stuff. Has Mel Kiper ever given a reason as to why BB's stock has dropped so significantly? Enquiring Cardinal minds want to know.

I assume that because Brohm has been solid and steady for so long then his teams wins dropped and he was off the radar.

ALTHOUGH his numbers didnt dip he is now easy to overlook........while at the same time some bumpkin who excells in a 15-minute drill at a combine has suddenly surged ahead on draft boards.
