Default Out of conference football schedule

I need the boards help to refresh my memory here.

Some azz hat was trying to knock Louisville about their out of conference schedule and I mentioned that a lot of DI schools were afraid to play Louisville in Louisville, especially since the Florida State game.

The Cards had a pretty good string of wins in "the Oven" from the Memphis loss until last year (20-straight) I think it was.

Anyway I was trying to remember the team that backed out of a home and home meeting with the Cards, I thought it was Wisconsin or Nebraska, does anyone remember?

I have stuck in my head that they were red and white, it was reported as either a done deal or a close to being done deal but they wanted just a home meeting and no return trip.

I tried to google it and couldnt find anything.

I bet Applacian State would jump at a Louisville game

Wisconsin was a big rumor, but I don't think it was ever confirmed. Duke, Georgia Tech, and an SEC team have backed out in recent years. I think there's another one I am forgetting.

OK maybe Wisconsin is who I was thinking of. I thought I read that Jurich stopped persuing it because the Badgers didnt want to come to Louisville, they just wanted Louisville at their home.

Good call. Vandy backed out, maybe even this year to force us to schedule Murray State. It was either them or Duke.

I thought Georgia backed out and then ended up having to get scheduled anyways, for some reason....right?

Cards Chant backer outers

well, the recent one was Georgia Tech who backed out of a home and home with us to schedule Notre Dame instead.

And, what about ND who is "supposed" to schedule up to 3 Big East teams in football soon? Any news on that?

Personally I'd tell Notre Dame to join the Big East in football or kick them out of all other sports. What a one way street they have.
