Default Harrington gets cut

ESPN is reporting that the falcons cut Harrington. Looks like Redman will get his shot at 1st string.

Redman is probably going to get a legit shot at being the starter. Not sure how much is two year deal was worth, but on the other boards they are saying about 5 million!

Good for Chris! Freddy

Falcons resigned Harrington but I think Redman outplayed him in his limited 4 games, could be a QB competition for Redman & Harrington in camp.

Quote:
What they still need: A starting quarterback. The Falcons re-signed Chris Redman, who played better than anyone had a right to expect in his four starts last year, and this week brought back Joey Harrington with a restructured contract.

D.J. Shockley is another name, but not necessarily the answer. While conventional wisdom says Atlanta will take Matt Ryan with the No. 3 pick, the Falcons could easily go with LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey and try to land their quarterback of the future (Brian Brohm?) in the second round.

That might even be the smartest move of all.

Wow, is it possible Brohm could fall to the 2nd round?

I didnt see that coming.

Do they over-analyze these guys or what?

They have kissed Ryan and Falco's behinds and picked Brohm apart.

I read somewhere that the Falcons are saying that Redman is the starter going into camp. Hope he hangs on to that role. I hate to see Brohm slip, but the lower he goes in the first round, the better quality team he'll get to be with. I believe teams are going to be sorry they passed on him. Freddy
