U of L receiver Mario Urrutia didn't drop any passes, but he was cited by one observer for not going full speed in a drill that required all-out effort. BIG SURPRISE THERE! They were probably "across the middle" routes...

BereaCard, when you asked if he was delusional about his talent that is something I have been thinking. Maybe he thinks since he has the body that every team would like to have at wideout, and that he does have the physical tools to play in the NFL that everyone is going to cut him some slack. We have all known people like that in our own lives. It is a shame. Lesson for you young parents out there, teach your kids to work hard, it pays off.

I have heard from some HS coaches Maurice really wasn't much of a football player at least in HS.
That certainly doesnt mean that with some maturity and hard work he hasnt improved. Maurice was shot twice so his judgement was a bit suspect in the past. Lil bro has impressive size but there is a reason you put a 6'5" guy at free safety instead of WR.......he cant catch.....yet ODDLY ENOUGH Maurice is now listed at WR on the 2008 Louisville roster. http://uoflsports.cstv.com/sports/m-...maurice00.html In Mario's case you would think that a guy who has ran thousands of routes and had thousands of passes thrown at him would be proficient by now at catching passes. I believe that if everyday I shot 1,000 free throws a day I would get better and be better than the average player at shooting free throws. Receiver is a skill and as many impressive plays as Mario has made he has dropped just as many so maybe he's just not as skilled of a receiver as we would like to think. While it bewilders us all why he cant do it every time he gets a pass tossed his way there is a reason, maybe he's just not as good as Harry Douglass who catches everything and because of his competitiveness gets every inch he can after the catch. Too bad Douglass isnt 6'6" and Urrutia is 5'9".
