Default Don't look now, but another UK game day conflict is brewing

http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/...55/1002/SPORTS

Seems to me UK simply likes to argue with Louisville about whatever it can. I don't really think UK needs a full week to prepare for Norfolk St.

...Oops. I meant to post this in the football folder. Anyone care to move it there?

There's already another thread here...

Brainfart says NO

But I will repeat my sentiments. This is our game and our call for when it is played. Just like UK got to decide that last year's game wasn't until week 3, I think we are completely within our rights to play this on Monday. The media better damn well take UK to task if they let this game be moved OFF the national spotlight of Kirk Herbstreit and ESPN and into some back room showcase AKA ESPN Classic so that we can watch a chick eat funnel cake.

They still want the game to only be played on their field like it was in the start. So now they bring up anything to bitch about when its played at Papa Johns.

Mitch is a brilliant man when it comes to chancin'.

He is a true scholar when he contemplates the chances of winnin' versus the chances of gettin' yer a$$whooped when playing against UofL. Not to mention the fact that it will broadcast to the entire nation.

And he ain't chancin' it. LOL!.

I was listening to Bob & Will on the way into work this morning. They were pointing out that Brooks is just being an old-school coach and realizing that he has to replace a lot of skill players in the first game this season - which just happens to be a rivalry game. They think the last thing Brooks wants to do is put Curtis Pulley on ESPN in a rival stadium with national TV excitement/hype.

Makes sense, but it's not like we're trotting a bunch of 4-year starters out there. That will be the first game where this is truly Hunter's team. It will be the first game (likely) that Bilal Powell starts. It will be the first game for a slew of wide receivers and linemen. Not to mention the entire defense.

Basically, it's another lame excuse.

It's the first game for both teams. It's nuts, the only advantage will be the home field. They're scared however you want to look at it, they're scared we'll have some unseen advantage, or they're scared their players won't be ready or will fold under the pressure, or they're scared the nation will see how bad they are, or they're scared of Norfolk State...they're scared of something.

Ok..we're in the office, we don't want to play this game anymore really and sure as hell don't care to be on national TV. Besides, we dont' care what UL wants..fvck UL. Mitch, go out there and tell them no and make sure you give em a good excuse.

The dumbest AD steps out there and says "we need a whole week to prepare for Norfolk" Are you kidding me? This is what they came up with? Way to pussy out of it with pride....not..lol Just say "we don't want to play on mon night out of the concern for our traveling fans" Done. Bingo. Noone will tear you up much with that.

This is why he's known as Brainfart. He pulled another one.

I heard one of the talking heads say that UK really would like to get out of playing this game every year and would rather schedule a winnable game. Maybe their AMAZING 8-5 season made them realize that in order to assure themselves a bowl game every 3 or 4 years, they need to either beat UL or schedule a doormat. Although the blind squirrels finally found their nut last year, I'm sure they would rather throw a beat down on KY State and be seen at that prime delayed tv viewing spot of 11:30pm than take their annual bluegrass ass whippin from the VILLE on national tv.

It's really just Barnhardt and some alumni! A lot of the students say they don't care if the season starts off with that game, especially because neither team is going to be as dominating as in the past (I think that is directed to UL, not UK).

I don't get it though... Why pass up an opportunity to make some good cash and get great exposure!

Its Monday Night Football, NCAA Edition!
