Anyone else think this schedule looks manageable?

Yeah, I think manageable is putting it lightly. We won't be winning any national championships with that slate. Oh well, I guess we're rebuilding anyway.

Kansas State will probably be a toss-up, but we better not lose any others in the first six.

I just cant see losing more than 3 games with that schedule. I will be disappointed if we do.

Very manageable schedule there...I say 10-2.

You guys are going to hate me, but I just don't think we are going to see much in the way of 10 win seasons anymore. If we win 8 of those 12, we should take it. I have no confidence that we are going to be any better than a 3rd or 4th place type of Big East team from now on. I simply didn't see anything last year that leads me to believe that we are going to be better. We lost the best WR in school history. We lost the best QB in school history. We lost our leading tackler. We lost the best kicker in school history. We lost our 5 star defensive end.
I love 'em, and I'll be at every game. I just don't see Kragthorpe as a championship coach. But I'd like him to be. Freddy

I think anyone who believes we can win 9 or more games with this schedule is living in the past. Do any of you remember the cake walk you (and I) predicted on the way to another BCS bowl game last year? Remember how that cake walk turned into a 6-6 train wreck? Remember how that train wreck occurred with what was supposed to the best offense around? Remember how that defense couldn't stop the MTSU running back behind a makeshift 2nd string O-line? Remember how we lost Brohm, Douglas, Allen, Barnidge, Urrutia, Whitehead, Council, Jackson, Smith? Remember how most of those departed players are being replaced by mostly inexperienced underclassmen and a bunch of JUCOs?

The saving grace for next year's team is an 8-game home schedule...unless you remember how that homefield advantage helped against lowly Syracuse and Utah last year. Do any of you remember that?

Yep... there is no reason to expect anything better than becoming bowl eligible this year. The bar has been lowered and I will be a happier Cardinal fan for it. I sincerely hope those of you expecting 10-win seasons aren't disappointed. I just have a bad feeling that you will be.

I'm not at all against optimism, but I see a team with a lot of work to do to improve. Guess I'd rather have low expectations and be happily surprised if they exceed those expectations. It wasn't very fun to watch my hopes for a great season get smashed to bits last year.

The only thing I can respond to is last years offense was being run by an incompetent. We were in most of the games, just didn't score enough. That is the one thing that I can't forgive Kragthorpe for, he should have made the change after the 2nd game.

On to this year, what I am really looking for is to see how our new coaches do. We are terribly thin at a lot of spots but I want to see if our players make the same bonehead mistakes or if they actually look "coached up".

Also looking forward to see if the enthusiasm returns. I actually could see this team winning 9. Just call me Shirley Temple.
