>>>Anthony Allen is a feature back at Louisville when healthy.

I cant see him transferring now, having to sit out a year when he can obviously stay here, get plenty of exposure & still make the NFL.

Where do you think he would go? Back home to Tampa and USF? He would have to earn time in that backfield too, they arent going to just had him the feature role.>>>>

Good call Bling!!!

Well, I liked Allen and hate to see him go. He just didn't seem healthy during the last part of the season. However, we still have good talent in the backfield, so it's not a killer loss.

I do think there may be a couple more though. Freddy

Good luck Anthony. But I gotta admit I'd place Anthony right up there with Malik Jackson as biggest dissapointments in 2007. He did have the one big game but that wasn't against the greatest of competition really. He seemed to run really soft. It's too early to crown Powell the king, but with Bolen and Strip we're gonna be ok - ESPECIALLY if Powell continues to put up big runs.

Did you see the reasoning his Dad gave for his transfer?

Anthony's a power back and Louisville's offense uses speed backs.

Well while Allen was hurt and Bolen was hurt that was the only options we had left.

I think Allen is making a big mistake because whenn he was healthy he got the carries and we used him as a power back and ran him between the tackles.

He may have success elsewhere but I doubt it, unless he goes DII.

He will have to sit a year and work his way up a depth chart somewhere else in DI

I don't think the flood gates will open. I don't like the idea of blocking a player who wants to transfer, although the decision is easy to me to make since I'm not the one who has to go recruit new players to replace the one who leave.

I can certainly see the logic in not letting him go to Arkansas. Other than that, I believe a player should be able to leave the program without much stipulation. Freddy

You guys sound like a bunch of hypocrites. When Marvin Stone wanted to transfer to UL and UK said no we heard a great wail about - freedom - unfairness - think about the kid. Now the shoe is on the other foot you don't want to let him go to Arkansas.

I don't think it's total hypocrisy. The difference in the Arkansas situation is that the Hogs have Allen's old coach, the guy he committed to. Marvin Stone didn't commit to Pitino.

Truth be told, though, I wouldn't have had a problem with UK blocking a transfer here to Louisville. Why should a program just hand over one of their own kids to a rival they have to play every year? I wish I was on the boards to read some of the stuff folks were saying back then.

Ehhh, I say let him go to R kansas if he wants. We arent in the same conference and its not like he's a stud RB. If he was like Darren McFadden then I would be a little more hesitant.

i'd say let him go wherever he wants and think that the ak rule is childish and based largely on hurt feelings toward bp.
