Either way that's a damning statement to Krag's ability to keep talent. I didn't see Shelton, Gates, Kolby Smith, or Bush run off when all of them were sharing a backfield en route to the NFL. If Allen ran off, it's at least in part because Krags couldn't convince him that there was enough carries, yards, and TD's to go around.

You'd think he'd have talked with Brohm before heading out the door. It's supposedly his show next season..

I dont think its going to be that big of an impact to the team. We are plenty stacked in the running dept.

Good luck AA

I agree. Bye AA you had one good freshman year hopefully you can reproduce that somewhere else because you sure didn't this year at UL.

Does anybody else think it's wrong to restrict where AA goes? I understand the conference rule, but thinking back to when Marvin Stone wanted to transfer to UL we were all pretty quick to condemn UK/Tubby for trying to keep him from the Ville.

I see it both ways. I think the specific concern with Arkansas, though, is the potential to open the flood gates if you let one former Petrino player leave for Fayetteville. If Allen transfers there with the school's blessing, what is supposed to stop all the other guys who might (probably?) want to go?

I like the AK rule. It's as if Petrino went straight to another school.

I liked Allen when he was here. Do you not remember his 250+ yard game this season?

Even after injury and limited carries later in the season he still led the team in rushing.

I do think that Powell will be good, and hopefully Martin and Vic Anderson will be good, too, but I liked having Allen there as a guy who could pound it for a couple of needed yards.

It went practically unnoticed, but Allen's rushing kept us in some good drives against UK. A couple of friends I have at UK were asking me (as if I could do something about it) why Allen wasn't running the ball much against UK. The pussy cats couldn't stop him for anything.

I think there must have been something beyond just not getting carries and yards... maybe respect from coaches... or fans who walk out early. I know that would piss me off.

he pretty much did. It's been less than a year since he stood tall with UofL.

He's been through three teams in less than a year! WOW! I just realized that!

Allen was nice for that big punch for a couple hard earned yards either in a 3rd and short or a 3rd and goal. IMO Bolen can fill his shoes in that regard.

That game he had the 275 yards was against weak competition. Not taking anything away from AA, that was an awesome accomplishment, but I think that Bolen or Powell could have had the same night given the opportunity.
