Other than the 80 NCAA, my greatest thrill as a Card fan was being at the Fiesta Bowl. We didn't care what Bama's record was, it felt like we won the Super Bowl that day. BTW good luck to Schnellie - he's going bowling again.

I was there too, farmdude, and that's exactly right. It was the Super Bowl. We were the best team in the country that day.

that win over fl st. was the beginning of a terrific run for the cards that has come to a screeching halt. was a great night though.
I'm not saying the win over Bama was something really special, but you may want to put it on the same level as the Orange Bowl. We played Wake Forest (of all ACC teams) when that conference was having a REALLY down year.

Anyway, I was talking more along the lines of a couple of good seasons in a row, not just the bowl games... that was... before Ron Cooper pulled a Kragthorpe on us...

OR should I say that Kragthorpe is pulling a Ron Cooper!?

just kidding, I shouldn't judge until I see if Kragthorpe can grab some recruits and have a decent season in 08

Krag has wiped the slate clean for me. He cleaned out the OC and DC. We shall see what happens next year. I have a good feeling its going to be a better end record with a bowl appearance.

The Fiesta was much more special than the OB to me, we were dying for some national recognition and we got it. We absolutely destroyed Bama and their smug fans on the national stage.

It did, we just couldn't keep up the momentum. Howard's "the only variable is time" statement got a lot of media attention. If we could have followed that victory with 2 really good seasons we would have nearly been where we were at this time last year. The problem was CUSA

Just like we were relevant until 4 games into this season when Syracuse kicked our ass on national television and our Koach went down for the year.
