Default Falcons football players=Talking out of both sides of their mouths

I got a kick out of watching Sportscenter tonight. Watching the pissing and moaning from the atlanta players was precious. You here the stories all year about how hardly anybody on the team likes him. So he does them all a favor and leaves and now they are all upset? Priceless. You cant have it both ways dumbasses. I even hear one player have the nerve to say, "He didnt belong here." Well............STFU THEN! Be happy moron! Do you think Petrino didnt know he wasnt well liked? Do you think maybe Petrino figured out that he wasnt cut out after all to coach spolied, rich professional football players? You didnt like him, he left and now your pissed off. Incredible. It's like your wife asking you for a divorce, so you give her one and the bitch resents you for it. The only person I feel sorry for in the Atlanta organization is Arthur Blank. As far as the players, you know the old saying "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." They got it, seems to me Petrino got the last laugh and gave em the ole middle finger salute on the way out.

Oh I know, I know. It isnt that he left, its that he left with three games in the season. But really, does this even matter? It's not like Atlanta was in the running for a playoff spot? So really whats the point? Just sticking around for the sake of saying you stuck around? Doesnt seem very sensible to me. In the end this is the best thing for Atlanta and Petrino.

"He snuck out in the middle of the night like the Baltimore Colts did," said Kansas City Chiefs running back Kolby Smith, who played for Petrino at Louisville.

I don't think Kolby was one of Petrino's biggest fans, FWIW.

As for leaving early, Petrino may have done them a HUGE favor. Now they have an additional excuse to blow the rest of the season and get a better draft spot next summer. Lots of positions in need of attention there, but they could guarantee themselves of having Brohm to start the rebuilding process.

Personally I am holding out hope that he slips just slightly and falls to Chicago. I'd be up there at least once a year to visit the aunt and see Soldier Field.

If I'm allowed to post in your threads, I just thought I'd add some more comments about Petrino. Like this one..."For my profession, I'm always very disappointed when things like this happen," Baltimore's Brian Billick said. "Kind of leave it at that. This profession needs to handle itself better at times."

Welcome back, BTW.

the falcons deserve what Petrino did. Well..except the owner. The players are a joke. Perhaps the owner should sell....

What's incredible is that you refer to his team as rich and spoiled athletes when it's Petrino who has no concept of team, of loyalty and is acting rich and spoiled.

You continue to defend Petrino and get your panties all bunched up when who are you?

Are you in the college football hall of fame?

Are you in the NFL hall of fame?

You just someone on a message board with your own opinion while Bob Griese who is in both before mentioned Halls disagrees with you and has the same opinion of all the Petrino bashers.

Quote:
A landslide of negative publicity, streaming in from national radio and TV, as well as online and print media, buried Arkansas and its new head football coach Wednesday.

Outcry came in the wake of Petrino's resigning from the Atlanta Falcons with three games remaining in the season, less than 24 hours after Petrino coached the Falcons during a Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints.

Arkansas fans hoping to learn more about the Arkansas Razorbacks' new coach were treated to a heaping helping of rants from syndicated sports call-in shows, notably Fox Sports Radio hosts J. T. The Brick and Big Ben Maller, who railed on Petrino and Arkansas on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

ESPN and ABC college football analyst Bob Griese described Petrino's actions as "sickening. What kind of message are we sending here ? When the going gets tough, quit ?"

Former Arkansas Coach Lou Holtz, who came to the Razorbacks in 1977 after going 3-10 in his only season with the New York Jets, said he regretted leaving the Jets before the end of the season and said he believed Petrino will regret his decision, too.

ESPN's Pat Forde called Petrino a "disingenuous drifter," while Eric Crawford of the Louisville Courier-Journal opined that Petrino was "less honest than Michael Vick and more conniving than Nick Saban."

I'll take Griese's opinion over yours Red sorry

Keep up your crusade Red, good luck with that.
