Yep. It's been that way for decades and will likely continue to be that way.

I don't necessarily believe Kansas or OSU won any tough games to actually "earn" the bid to the NC, but they also didn't lose to any chumps and only have one lose each. LSU played one of the toughest schedules of anyone and lost both times in multiple overtime games. I'd put LSU against Kansas or OSU and watch LSU beat the snot out of either team.

OSU lost to Illinois at home. Illinois is a chump.

Illinois is actually lucky number 13 in both polls.

True. But, the Big 10 is SOFT. Illinois has one win over a current top 25 team (OSU) and OSU has one win against top 25 teams (Wisconsin). Wisconsin has no top 25 wins. I think they are all very suspect and don't deserve their rankings. OSU has beat a bunch of nobodies. Illinois last to Michigan at home. While UM has made some strides, they still aren't good.

This is why I HATE the BCS and the whole college football system. It's all about your record. IMO OSU is about a 10th ranked team. Yet they are all but locked in to play for the NC. But, the thing is you can't really gauge a team like OSU because they haven't played anyone worth a damn. They could win the NC in a runaway or they could get blowed out of the water just like last year.

Looks like the 10 teams in BCS games will be from the list (the AP top 12).
1. Ohio State (50) 11-1 1,578
2. LSU (11) 11-2 1,519
3. Oklahoma (1) 11-2 1,423
4. Georgia (1) 10-2 1,421
5. Virginia Tech (1) 11-2 1,380
6. USC 10-2 1,346
7. Missouri 11-2 1,195
8. Kansas 11-1 1,164
9. Florida 9-3 1,071
10. Hawaii (1) 12-0 1,050
11. West Virginia 10-2 1,040
12. Arizona State 10-2 939

With a maximum of 2 teams from each conference eligible for BCS games, I assume than that Kansas and Florida get snubbed. I know the Rose Bowl can pick a BIg 10 team, but that would really be a shame to pit USC against Illinois. I see OSU vs. LSU in the NC. USC vs. Georgia in the Rose. Va Tech vs. WVU in the Orange. And I doubt any of us care about the other four too much anyway.

This should be the BCS's slogan:

Because deserves got nothing to do with it.

Seriously, they should just do away with the polls, do away with the computers and just take a poll on which teams you want to see each other play at the end of the year. A total sham.

LSU looses and falls into the top 10. Any other team who is NOT considered a college power looses and falls out of the top 25. Tell me this ain't fixed for the ratings. The BCS is appropriately named: Big Crock of Shit.

Can we stop the planet again so that I can get off too?

That about sums it up.

The prestige and tradition of some conferences carries their teams as much as what they actually do on the field.

it's like a good ol boy network and they dont wanna let these other teams in.

Why does a tournament work in basketball and not football?

I say play all the bowl games in the first two weeks of December and then the winnersl move on to a playoff.

So isnt that about 32 teams advance to a playoff?

After one week your down to 16, two weeks down to 8, third week down to 4, 4th week Championship.

Makes the college football season 4 games longer than it is now but would only extend the season maybe 2 weeks, middle of january.

Spring football starts in March or April anyway, then theres camp in June, football is year round so what's the big deal about a bowl and then 4 extra weeks?
