Mr. Pitino just took a verbal commitment from San Diego big man Jeremy Tyler of the 2010 class. He's 6-8, 240 and he chose UofL over USC, UCLA, Arizona, Memphis, and Michigan State.
As a sophomore, he averaged 23 points, 15 boards, and 8 blocks per game. http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html Rivals says he is "a physical presence with a promising skill package."

After watching some of this kid's videos...wow! This is a future #1 draft choice if he keeps his head right.
Of course, he's only a junior in HS so we're still a long way from putting on the red jersey but still, this kid can play.

The football and basketball programs are about as far apart as they can get as far as outlooks go.
The momentum is really building in hoops and we are kind of treading water in football. These commitments only reaffirm what we already know......Pitino runs a first rate program. It doesn't matter who he plugs in as an assistant coach, they get the job done. Freddy

He definitely looks solid on his youtube vids, I'd love to be able to catch him play live. I wouldn't be expecting any Greg Oden/Mike Conley aww damns yet (they were the last 2 HS stars I've seen play live), but if he can pull some moves like that I'll consider the ticket money spent well.
