Default The Obama Speech

Pretty damned good. I'm not sure the speech itself is going to be remembered, but the mere fact that it was delivered and delivered effectively will resonate for years. Make no mistake, this was a historic night for our country. We finally kicked in a door that needed kicking in.

Whether Obama wins or loses really won't matter in the grand scheme of things. We no longer have to wait and see "when" we are going to move forward. We can finally stop focusing on race or gender when it comes to thinking about a candidate for the top job. It's happened. That can never change.

It had more meat than any speech I've heard from him to this point. He met every expectation I had. Bravo to Obama. The Dems should feel pretty good moving on towards November. He cleared the first hurdle. He introduced himself to the country and pointed out his differences with McCain. Freddy

The difference between a shitty president and a great president....... following up on promises made during convention speeches and hand shaking, baby kissing, meet and greets!!!!

I too enjoyed the speech but I'm still really torn over this election. I'm a fan of Biden's. As for Obama and McCain, I don't care for either one. I may find myself voting for the VP more than the actual Pres.

I thought it was a weak speech, but it was a powerfully delivered weak speech. Where are the specifics in his plans? Get America off foreign oil in 10 years? HOW? I need details, not empty promises to get elected.

Where was McCain's specifics? It was even more broad than Obama's. You think if these guys really delivered a speech on the specifics of how they want to do everything you would watch it? Hell no, you'd be bored to death.

what speech? I missed it...lol

Thing is..IT DOESN'T MATTER what either says or how it's delivered. You're voting for a republican vs a democrat and you already know where they stand on various issues. It's that simple really.

As it is, i'll still vote republican for that simple reason as my viewpoint leans that way moreso than the left. It always will.
