Well, Denny Crum did it every year for a decade or more; but, he had the personel during that period to back it up.
And, he played "anytime" to get on TV as he knew the value of it. I recall wondering why they would play Thursday night or Friday night (for TV) and then have to play again Saturday at noon or so. I see the value of it now; but, back then I did not.
This ran some of those teams ragged; but, they were tough as nails come the tournament.
I'm not saying I recommend this for our current team; but, it can and has been done. I hope Samardo Samuels will integrate in by mid-season and I think we can dream about that 3rd NC.
