Default DNC Convention: Thoughts....

Jeebis Cripes the coverage of this thing is unreal.

I never want to hear how slanted FOX is again. MSNBC is practically falling over themselves. Olberman and Matthews are discussing the size of the crowd and then started making fun of McCain and how many people he was likely to have tomorrow at the VP announcement. There is no doubt that they are in the tank for Obama. They championed him over Hillary and there is no reason to expect different now. I have always liked Matthews, but he has caught Olbermans disease.

FOX is focusing mostly on the parallels with Kennedy and Obama and have also given heavy coverage to whom the VP may be for McCain. I still say they put on the best coverage of the conventions and have for the past few election cycles. They have the most interesting interviews and analysis. Shepard Smith gave a nice "out" from his show talking about how inspirational tonight has to be for black Americans and how that should go hand in hand with how good this is for the country overall.

Poor CNN. They have to have the most boring coverage ever. Someone said the other day that CNN had a bunch of old windbags.....that's about the damned truth.

The only way to watch this stuff without all the hyperbole is through CSPAN.

By the way, did anyone see the McCain ad running today? McCain congratulates Obama and makes mention of the history of it all, including the speech of Dr.King. Tip of the cap to him for doing so. Politics aside this has been an important couple of days for the nation.

And to finish up.....WOW....all those people! That just looks spectacular. The Dems should be proud that they have put on such a great show tonight and over the past few days. The main speakers have been more mainstream and inspirational. Yeah, the stuff is mostly fluff, but that's what the convention is for, to make a presentation.

The Republicans are usually very good at this sort of thing, but they are really gonna have to jump high this time around, as the Dems have raised the bar.
