That second highlighted comment is just the epitome of stupid. So because you can get 70,000 people to watch your game, you deem it a success? Gee, that's interesting. Louisville football looks for numbers more like this:
10,650,000 - Approximate viewers for 2007 Orange Bowl v. Wake
4,600,000 - Approximate viewers for 2006 Gator Bowl v. Va Tech
6,500,000 - Approximate viewers for 2004 Liberty Bowl v. Boise State
That in conjunction with 4.9 million folks watching last year's WVU-Louisville game and 4.6 million watching Rutgers-Louisville the very next week. Those are the two highest-rated Thursday night football games ever on ESPN and the 2nd and 3rd most watched ESPN games EVER!
But yeah, having 70,000 people (and maybe a few recruits if you are lucky enough to get them in that weekend) is cool too.
