It's not even that really. 6-6 record? I can live with that. Not great. Not bad either. It's watching the games though. We had teams, very very bad teams, downright pitiful teams....just running down the field on us...run, pass..it didn't matter. We had special teams looking very bad in punting situations.
Then the offense soured up and got downright unpredicatable as if the coaches weren't sure of what they were doing. Stopped using a powerback, went to Stripling and then to someone else. Too many passes. Too many 3 and outs.
Yes, there were a couple of suspensions but that's normal on any team. Like players have said before, Petrino had them in line because he got in their face. New coach? They probably tested him and rumors were he was more friendly.
This was a team that boasted perhaps the best QB we've ever had, some good receivers, tightends, decent RB's, and that offense sputtered. Completely inexcusable. Krag even had a kicker that was pretty much automatic. All he really needed was a half ass defense that could stop an average offense. But nope. We had teams like Syracuse, MTSU, MSU, running down the field on us. At home even.
Now i know this is all in the past and we should forget it, but it's hard to although i squarely place the blame on Krag. This coming season has a lot of questions. We can celebrate the new assistants and try to gain hope from them, but Krag has much to prove.
