What it matters is that the 6 opponents leading up to LSU were I-AA Eastern Kentucky, 3-9 Kent State, 6-6 Louisville, 7-5 Arkansas, 7-5 FAU, and 6-6 South Carolina. Not exactly a murderer's row of opposition. Two winning teams in the whole bunch - one of the two that needed a 6-1 finish in the Sun Belt just to get to 7-5.

That's because metrics like the SOS and computers account for squat in the new BCS formula. The two polls, which I would hope you agree are subject to a LOT of bias, are 2/3 of the formula. If LSU is #1 in both polls, it's going to be hard for the computers to push them outside the Top 2.

Little went down after that, so did the #2 RB also and WR Keenan Burton and their starting DE or was it a DT did as well.

We all know what injuries and suspensions can do to a team (ie: Stripling, Spillman, Urrutia, O-Line, Peanut, Allen, Bolen, Douglass, Willia WIlliams).
Again, by that logic... LSU was beat up IN THAT GAME and still almost pulled it out. Kentucky was pretty healthy if memory serves and still needed 3 OT's to knock off a team that didn't have Early Doucet, had a banged-up & terrible performance from Matt Flynn, and lost three defensive players in the second half.

Though wide receiver Early Doucet returned from a four-week absence to play the second-to-last play of the game, cornerback Chevis Jackson, safety Craig Steltz, and defensive end Kirston Pittman left the game in the second half.
I'm sure this is going to be a testament to the quality of LSU in your eyes, but let's not let injuries be an EXCUSE for UK's final record. They got by most of the season with a good offense and good TO margin. When Woodson started throwing it away, they started losing. Every team deals with injuries and UK proved it wasn't a very good team if a couple of injuries was the reason they fell from 6-1 to 7-5.
