The guy goes 10-2 with a probation-plagued program and he's a crappy coach? If you ask me, he got a really raw deal when Alabama was just coming off those issues and looking to get back to full strength. Then the opportunity to get Nick Saban pops up and suddenly Shula is a bad coach?
Maybe he isn't the right guy, but I certainly wouldn't label him crappy based on what he was able to do in the SEC, with a probation-ridden team, playing in what has been the tougher division during his entire tenure.
Unless Saban beats Auburn this weekend, he will have accomplished no more with his full roster of scholarship players than Shula did with a bunch of walk-ons.
